DIY Almond Face Mask

Hello Beautiful,

Every once in a while, we look at ourselves in the mirror and think OH DEAR! The reason being our skin. Our skin is the largest organ of our body and it's only fair that it reflects our daily stresses in the way that it knows best - Physically! What we put inside our body and what we put on our body is largely to blame for the over reaction that our skin tends to have. And one thing is for sure, we can hide all parts of our body but what do you do when your face says HELP ME!

I am going to show you how to give your face some TLC in the way it deserves - a homemade Almond Face Mask that will make you look all glowy and what not!

Now I know what you're thinking. Homemade?! I, for one, absolutely resented anything beauty related to be homemade. Firstly, it can get messy and secondly, who has time these days??

The thing is, we do have time. Now don't tell me you can't spare 15 minutes out of your day, for yourself, just once a week! Children and workload are all good excuses but think for a second about how your well-being reflects on those around you. I'm sure your children and your peers wouldn't mind if you looked better!

I'm ranting again aren't I haha! Let's head straight over to this magical substance!

You will need:

  • 4 Almonds, shelled and soaked over night (you can soak them in some water or milk)
Almonds are great for dry skin as they are super moisturising because of their high Vitmain E content. They are also great little "exfoliating bad boys" if crushed into a paste and remove dead skin cells to unblock pores. Thus, smoothing your skin and improving your overall skin tone.

  • 1 Tbsp Honey (the purest honey you can find)

Honey is packed with anti oxidants which rid your skin of free radicals that exist in the atmosphere and promotes healthy, younger looking skin. It also has great anti bacterial properties that fight off acne causing bacteria.

  • 1 Tbsp Milk

Cleopatra bathed in Milk - need I say more? Milk is as great for you internally as it is externally. It contains a natural lactic acid which gently exfoliates the skin and leaves it feeling smooth and looking radiant.

  • A Fork

  • A Small Bowl

  • A Face Towel

  • Your fingers!

  • Something to do whilst the mask is sitting on your face!

1. Using the fork, mash up the soaked almonds in the bowl using the milk and form a paste.

2. Add the honey and mix well.

3. Apply the mask to clean skin using your fingers in circular motions.

4. Do something or just sit there an relax for 15-20 minutes (the longer the better!)

5. Once you're all done, run the face towel under some hot water and use it to remove the mask.

6. Feeling better? Apply your favourite moisturiser and you're good to go!

This mask is based on my skin type, which is combination/dry. If you have oily skin, you can substitute the Milk for some Lemon Juice, which is a great natural astringent helping control the oil secretion from your skin.

I hope you enjoyed my super easy Almond Face Mask. Try it out and let me know how you get on.

And always remember your First love is Self Love!

Happy Pampering!

  1. This is the first time I've seen a face mask using Almonds. I think I'll try this.

    1. It is great if you want to even out your skin tone. If yours is anything like mine (asian genes!) I can end up looking like a patchwork quilt haha! Thank you for your wonderful comment x
