Classically French: A Hair Tutorial

Hi Beautiful,

I've noticed that a lot of hairstyles are extensions of some basics that we've all grown up seeing or learning about at some point.  Today, I'm going to show you how to do a beautiful Classic French Braid.

I braid my hair quite loosely in the summer, as it adds to the "laid back" vibe of the summer months.
Follow the steps below to achieve this look.

  1. Split your hair at the crown in to three equal strands (Right strand, Middle Strand and Left Strand.)

  2. Start off with a regular braid by crossing the Right strand over the Middle strand.

  3. Follow by crossing the Left strand over the Middle strand (After the first step, your Right strand would have become the Middle strand.)

  4. Repeat the same again by crossing the Right strand over the Middle strand. This time, add loose hair from the right to the Right strand before crossing it over.

  5. Do the same again with the Left strand, incorporating loose hair from the left as you cross it over.

  6. Do what you do with all braids and repeat! When you have no more loose hair left to add to the strands, carry on with a regular braid down your hair and finish off by tying the braid with an elastic.
That is all my loves! Hope this helped.

Until next time,

Happy braiding!

    1. The thing with braiding is, you just have to keep practicing. If you find it hard to control the hair, try using a spray bottle to dampen your hair first and maybe tie the three sections in to three little ponytails before starting. That's how I got the hang of it! x
