Kitty - A Halloween Makeup Look

Hello Lovelies!

Goodness knows where this year is going! Time is just flying by and it's almost Halloween! And with that in mind, what better time to mess around with makeup than Halloween, because even if you go wrong, no one will ever know!

I decided to kick start with a Classic Kitty Makeup. For those of you who know me, you knew this was coming haha!

Oh and the cat in the picture is my Jerry (Jerry Berry, Jear Bear etc) Isn't he a hunk!

I didn't think it was necessary to list the products I used but it's just literally a layer of foundation (if you have a foundation that doesn't match your skin tone, now would be the time to use it!) a black eyeliner, a white eyeliner, a purple lipstick, some highlighter and some falsies (the bigger the better!)

Let me know what you think in the comments below!

Have a great Halloween!

Yay Or Nay: I ♡ Makeup Lip Geek (Lipsticks) Review

Hello Lovelies!

It's been a long time since I did a Review post, so I'm back today with just that! I've been shopping a lot lately so I'm guilty of many many new purchases. This product, however, has been sitting in my makeup bag and I've been itching to test it out.

I ♡ Makeup Lip Geek

So the story behind these is that I ran into these by mistake -and what a wonderful mistake it was! I was ACTUALLY on the Boots website looking for the Herbal Essences Dry Shampoo and then one thing led to another and before I knew it, I was on Makeup Revolution website with these three beauties in my basket!

Just look at them! Would you be able to resist them?!

These lipsticks are available in 24 shades and this is how they are described on the Makeup Revolution wesbite:

"We DO lips!

Serious LIP Colours in a Super Pigmented shades.

We are LIP GEEK, so we do the shades in a very obsessed way."

Now considering Makeup Revolution London is pretty new on the cosmetics scene, I was pleasantly surprised with these lipsticks.

The shades I chose were:

  • Ken Will Want Me - A cool toned Barbie Pink.

This shade was more pigmented than I expected it to be. It applies very smooth and the texture is very creamy. It's almost buttery and so it is super moisturising. The only down side is that, due to the nature of the shade, it settles into fine lines on the lips and can cling on to chapped lips. It would be a good idea to exfoliate your lips and apply a lip balm before hand. However, make sure to blot the balm before applying the lipstick because the lipstick itself is very creamy and the last thing you want is a major land slide on your face!

  • Cherry Bomb - A true Cherry Red with blue undertones.
A super pretty shade that would suit all skin tones. This was the most pigmented shade of the three that I bought - one swipe was enough to cover the lips. It has the same creamy texture but it didn't settle into my fine lines which was a big plus! It may require a Lip liner though.

  • Barbie Is Jealous - A Hot Pink with blue undertones.
This was my favourite shade. It's hot enough to stand out yet subtle enough to be a wearable shade. It is suitable for all skin tones but it would make anyone with yellow, olive or golden undertones really glow! Creamy and smooth to apply, highly opaque and super moisturising.

(For the purposes of this review, the swatch pictures have not been edited and so are a true representation of the colours to the best of my ability.)

Verdict: I really liked these lipsticks. They are unscented, which is a plus for those of you with a sensitivity to fragranced cosmetics. They are also super moisturising, comfortable to wear and have great pigmentation. However, they will probably require touch ups every 3 hours or so but I don't mind pulling one of these beauties out of my handbag haha! The packaging is stunning! The wide shade range is awesome too. The best part is that these little bullets retail for £2.99 which is an absolute bargain!

That's all my beauties! Give them and a go and let me know what you think!

Face Of The Day: Hollywood Glam

Hey Beautiful!

I'm back today with a FOTD post. Feels like I haven't one of these in yonks! I've been packing recently so my stuff is split up in to suitcases! For those of you who don't know, I'm getting married in Pakistan in December and I fly out early November. And the reason I've started packing so early is because I have too much stuff haha! "I won't take it all," said No Girl, Ever!

Enough rambling, let's get back to the make up!

This is my version of a Classic Hollywood make up look.

Products used:

  • Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser
  • BareMinerals BareSkin Foundation - Bare Tan (That's a lot of Bares!)
  • Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer - Warm Medium
  • Collection 2000 Pressed Powder - Translucent
  • Benefit Hoola Bronzer
  • MAC Brow Pencil - Spiked
  • Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade - Chocolate
I didn't use any highlighter on my cheeks because the foundation is pretty luminous itself. I also stayed away from blusher as I felt the bold lip was enough 'colour' for this look.

  • NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil - Cottage Cheese (used all over the lid to prime eyes and as a brow bone highlight)
  • Benefit Hoola Bronzer (used to define the crease)
  • The Balm Cindy Lou-manizer (used on top of the Cottage Cheese Jumbo Pencil to add a hint of colour and as an inner corner highlight)
  • Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner - Blackest Black
  • NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil - Milk (used on the waterline)
  • Jordana Best Lash Extreme Volumising Mascara
  • Red Cherry False Eyelashes - No. 47
  • Jordana Easyliner LipPencil - Cabernet
  • NYX Extra Creamy Round Lipstick - Snow White

That's all folks! Let me know what you think of this Hollywood Glam inspired make up look and I will see you next time!

Thank you for stopping by!
